Google Street View

So it does not matter weather you like it or not, I personally do not really know what to think of it - but Google Street View is here to stay. But now there is a change for you to make sure that you're now where close to where they take pictures (if you don't like being on the photos), or show up and make silly things, which people will have to look at for years. Google have for that purpose created a website which shows where the photo cars are right now . Now should one make a competition, to encourage people to do silly things??? (I'm in no doubt that Google's legal department isn't going to like that)

The Language

As a non-native English speaker it can sometimes be difficult or awkward to use a language I did not grow up with (my English teacher actually failed me in verbal English - in High School). But it also makes me allergic so to say, to 'add' words to my native Danish - not mine (as it have not really developed for the last 9 years), but the language in general. I do not listen to a lot of Danish, I normally get my daily input from online news papers, and sometime I really get worked up over 'add' words which do not fit into the context or simply look like they are used by the writer just to "look" cool.. no good. All languages have developed over the years (maybe except for Icelandic... they where cut off from the rest of the world for a while), and every language borrows words from neighboring languages, which means that in Danish there are German, Swedish (god forbid), English, Latin and so forth words, which have over the years found their way in, so that the...

I got a headache (I'm a mere speck)

One of the things I like to think about is [stag]'life, the universe, and everything[/stag]', yes Douglas Adams had a profound impact on my way at looking at the sky. And I'm still happy that earth was not removed to to make space for a interstellar highway (or was it). And no I'm not a philosopher, I just have keen interest in every thing. So how about that headache, first visualize yourself in you comfy chair in your living room, then continue to put your self in perspective in you city (or country if you live in a small town). See that was not too difficult, then continue to include the earth (yes it's actually kind of biggish, but will get smaller shortly). Now that you have the basics in place, you can continue to include the Sun (Sol), Mercury, Venus, Earth (we already covered that), Mars (are there still creatures living there?), Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune, at this point you could also count in Mars, but that was made into a non-planet a couple of years...

To Darwin or not to Darwin

Politikken (Danish Newspaper) just published an article ( english via google translate) where they say that a majority of Americans (that's the people living in the USA), think that God created the Earth, in Denmark it's minority. Some years back I heard this small story which puts a bit of color on the whole thing; Moses walks up to the mountain where he receives the tables from God, and part of the conversation which took place was told as; Moses; "So how did it become?" God; "what do you mean?" Moses; "how did all of this become, you know, life, universe, everything?" God smiles, and settles down and says: "billions of years ago there was nothing, and then suddenly there what this very big explosion, which started the process of creating stars...." Moses looks at God (very confusing at this point), and says "aehhh, could I get the short version please, this is too complicated" God; "Ok, on the first day...." Not s...

Persons

Just a small note.... It's "people" and not "persons"! One person, does not become persons where there is more of them. They become people..... And yes, my [stag]English[/stag] is not that great either. Update. It seams that I am wrong, according to a dictionary; -- snip -- ORIGIN Middle English : from Old French persone, from Latin persona ‘actor's mask, character in a play,’ later ‘human being.’ USAGE The words people and persons can both be used as the plural of person , but they are not used in exactly the same way. People is by far the more common of the two words and is used in most ordinary contexts: : a group of people ;: there were only about ten people ;: several thousand people have been rehoused. Persons, on the other hand, tends now to be restricted to official or formal contexts, as in : this vehicle is authorized to carry twenty persons ;: no persons admitted without a pass. In some contexts, persons, by pointing to the individual, may...

ISP and service

A month ago, or so, I wrote about customer service or the lack of. I also wrote that I switched my [stag]ISP[/stag] to a cable based provider; [stag]UPC[/stag] , as they where friendly and very help full. Well during my move something went wrong, and my address was not moved (thanks to the local postal service), which have resulted in a few mishaps in the last couple of weeks. Well it has not ended yet, and as I was to find out this evening when I got home from work, it was going to get a lot worse... This morning (was working from home), I suddenly lost my internet connection, and therefor I call the helpdesk, to ask if they knew about it, and when it would fixed (stay home, or goto the office). The person I talked to listed a wrong address (been there before???), and I was transfered to another person (starting to sound like a nightmare), this very helpfull person then resolutly changed the address, and mentioned "it will take me 3 days to move your equipment", where as I ...

Blog comments

'[stag]Blog comments[/stag]' you say, well let me tell you I love them, they are simply adorable, and they make me think that someone out there actually read my blog - the only thing I have an issue with are comments like: replica watches | replica@watches.com | s2.zeroforums.com/index.php?mforum=bestreplicawatch | IP: 200.88.223.98 replica watches http://s2.zeroforums.com/index.php?mforum=bestreplicawatch replica watches Which is not why I allow comments to my small, so if you're one of the people who send me these offers, please stop as I don't have any interest in them. Now I'm on the subject on 'Blog [stag]spam[/stag]' or 'email spam', I read somewhere that most of all spam originates from the [stag]US[/stag], [stag]Korea[/stag], and [stag]China[/stag]. Now the interesting thing is that one can actually go to jail in the US for sending [stag]unsolicited email[/stag] - maybe they should start building more prisons:-)

Hot Chili

They have found the hottest [stag]chili[/stag], or what is the hottest chili until the next one is found. According to this article , it has 357,729 SHU (which is a way they measure heat levels - I think). Well for me chili is chili, and it is normally hot, and very nice....

Lunch time nap, can save your life....

According to a study conducted in the US, it can save you life if you have a small [stag]nap[/stag] around lunch time (referred to in this artice l, by Jyllands Posten, Danish , or here at forskning.no, Norwegian ). Full text , by oxfordjournals.org Now this is something I could use, I always feel a bit [stag]sleepy[/stag] after lunch, and a small nap could come in very handy.

Grammy Awards 2007 - life amazes me

I was in the US almost 3 years agoe, just before the US did go into Iraq, and did have some quite intersting discussions. But one thing really did amaze me was the reaction people had to [stag]Dixie Chicks[/stag] and their stand on the Iraq war/invasion, where long term fans had thrown out their CD's for that simple reason. My comment to that was something in the lines of; "they are people, and they should be allowed to have their oppinion", that being the conservative part of the US, and some people being slightly boneheaded..... Now it turns out that at this years [stag]Grammy Awards[/stag] (2007) they got 5 awards, for new album, etc. it looks like they are back into the world of Country fans... 3 years after people wanted to see them burned. They (Dixie Chicks) probably still have the same opinion as 3 years ago, but as Bush and Co. are no longer in the driving seat (he still being president, but people have finally found out that he is useless), and some people are...

So you're moving

Actually not you, but me... So what is the worst in the part of moving? I would say the packing thing, I just spend 2 weeks doing DIY (aprox 60L of paint - for aprox 100kvm of house, 37kvm of floor, and the odd things), which is dueable - the great thing is that I've lost weight... about 8kg, which is both good and bad - my jeans are too big now (that will change in the future when I put it back on again). But packing, that is a b...., you find that you have things you thought you got ridge of years back, and you find that the thing you actually thought you had is not there anymore. Make it stop.... I'm still to move, but that is what one pay people to do....

And no not all Danes understand Swedish

I was at this party today where I meet this nice Swedish girl, and we where talking about language. Me being from Denmark, understand some Swedish, but not everything. And it seams that the perception is that all Danes understand Swedish... Well it's been a well know fact for years that Norwegians and Swedes understand Danish, well that was what I thought until I was told otherwise:-) Yes it sounds kind of similar, but no the tree nordic countries do have diffrent languages, there are similarities, but still the diffrence is there and it enough to, sometimes, make it impossible to use anything but English.

When things go way to fast....

According to this articel on www.jp.dk (Danish; Jyllands Posten), things can go a bit to fast when they build houses in Norway. They normally can build a house in one day - that is, it's a wooden house, and they only connect all the pre assembled pieces, but this time it did not go according to plan. The house was turned 180 degrees, and no, to fix it they used a crane. The article also reports that the roof is pointing upwards:-) Strangely enough the construction company did not have any comments....

So got gas?

So do you have a gas problem, that is you emit gas - not just once in a while, but on a very frequent interval. tThen wait no longer, there is a solution for the problem. A company by the name of UnderTec is making underwear which will help you. It's called UnderEZ, of all names. I especially like the testimonials , some of them make me look forward to become an elderly man - not! There are more pictures here (Jyllands Posten - Danish). Now, I doubt that this underwear will become the next best thing in the bedrom when one wants to have fun - lol....

Darwin Awards 2006

The Darwin Awards winners for 2006 have been announced. If you don't know about the 'Darwin Awards'... well to get nominated you have to do something very stupid which makes sure that you pass into the afterlife. By doing something you should know could be fatal, if you where a normal thinking induvidual. To quote the site: "We salute the improvement of the human genome by honoring those who accidentally remove themselves from it... ensuring that the next generation is one idiot smarter. Of necessity, this award is generally bestowed posthumously."

Will it blend

On of my slightly crazy Danish friends send me this linke to ' will it blend ', and it fits just nice to some of my other very good friends - who just gave them self a food processor for Christmas - start experimenting. Enjoy, and do not hesitate to let me go if you try it, but don't come crying if your blender stops blending:-)

Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Ok, it's now official autumn . I normally do not really complain about the weather (except for the normal; "oh it's raining", or "shitty weater yesterday, spend my whole sunday on the sofa with hangovers"). But it is now so "cold" that I'm starting to think about finding my winter gloves, and that means that I'm not having fun riding to work in the mornings.... Ok, it could be worse, but I still do not enjoy it!!
