Adobe Lightroom cannot store it's library on a shared storage, which makes it cumbersome to work with multiple computers, ie. a notebook in the field, and something else at home. There are ways to work around it, and with all the free online filestorage solutions (Dropbox, Google Drive, Microsoft SkyDrive, etc), it have become easier. To get this to work, first make sure that Lightroom is not running, as it requires a couple of things: make backup!!!! Easier to restore, than having to recreate your library. Use Terminal.app to do the following copy the ~/Pictures/Lightroom/Lightroom 4 Catalog.lrcat' to '/Lightroom' (use copy as if something goes wrong you still have the original) rename the original file to 'original-Lightroom/Lightroom 4 Catalog.lrcat' Copy the '~/Pictures/Lightroom/Lightroom 4 Catalog Previews.lrcat' to '/Lightroom' (use copy as if something goes wrong you still have the original) rename...

I don't know if you know about Google Earth , but it's a service provided by Google which allowes you to to look at satalite pictures of the earth. Friday last week, a colleague told me that one could see my motorbike from Google Earth - right.... in the office parking lot. Well I had a look at yes, he was right, one can see it It's nice that once can see that I was actually was at work that day when they took that photo.

So I got this email, asking if I could be interested (actually; we're going to Dublin, care to join), and I was.... 1190 I cannot remember the last I ate, and drank so much in such a short time..... Great trip guys....

Sometimes one can get lucky....

So what do one call this, I was bored at work (after a very busy week) and, I was surfing the dpreview forums , and thought that maybe I should have a look around at the local photoshop dealers to see if they finally had the D200 in stock.... And lucky me two had, and of cause I choose the cheapest , which isn't cheap at all, but a man needs to have a hobby. I have to admit that I'm still trying to figure out how it works, but just for the fun of I took a walk at the Maas, to see if I should be lucky to get a decent photo of the Rotterdam skyline... No too bad, but could be better.... 1994Now the next is to hope for some warmer weather, so that I do not freeze my private parts of.....

One of the subjects I can continue to take photos of is the Moon. I'm not very good at it but I can still try.

It is actually possible to see the moon once in a while. 1500 Camera: Nikon D100, Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 EX, Sigma 1.4x, 1/159sec, f8, Manual exposure. And yes I know I should have used RAW instead of JPEG.

I've been trying to switch to Linux for all my application for a very long time, and the last outstandig issue have been Nikon RAW files. But now it seams that I successfully can fdisk my windows PC and install Linux on it. Today I found two websites which have the tools needed for me to use The GIMP for all my photo processing. First get dcraw.c from http://www.cybercom.net/~dcoffin/dcraw/ and compile it with: # gcc -o dcraw -O3 dcraw.c -lm -ljpeg # su # cp dcraw /usr/local/bin # chown root.root /usr/local/bin/dcraw # chmod 555 /usr/local/bin/dcraw Then get RawPhoto GIMP-2.0 plug-in from http://ptj.rozeta.com.pl/Soft/RawPhoto and install it: # tar zxfv rawphoto-20040527.tgz # cd rawphoto-20040527 # cd src # gimptool --install-admin rawphoto.c Then use The GIMP to open a .nef file, and bingo it works. Excelent.

Another place you should to and see if you get to Copenhagen is Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek which is nice place to see. BTW If you're American (more specfic from the US) you might get a shock as they have nice collection of statues, which shows part of the atonomy which you probably aren't used to see displayed.... 1471 1474 1477 Is that face actually laughing.....

I was in Copenhagen with some friends to listen to some Jazz during the Jazz Festival - well I have to admit that we did not listen to much Jazz, but we had a great time anyway..... But have you ever tried to take a picture of 6 people in a public place..... Take 1... 1807 Take 2... 1811 Take 3... 1814 Take 4... (finally) 1817 Is it too much to ask for - I have a camera, and everything I point it at should be ready to have it (their) photo taken.....

I kind of travel a lot, not to diffrent parts of the world, but to Utah (Yes that this place in the US), and one sometimes forget how big the US. I tend to get around to see things while I'm over there, and last time a colleague of mine told me to go an see Dead Horse Point, which is something like a 4 hour drive from Salt Lake City. It was not a perfect weather (only a snowstorm or two), and as you can see the view was smoggy. .. missing picture - dead-horse-point .. But this is the first time where I did not stand on a man made construction and felt vertigo. This is a beatitull place, and if you have the option go a see it.

In Utah there is this place... You fly into Salt Lake City, and instead of truning left to get in to the city, turn right on I80, and continue for about 1 - 2 hours (depending on you speed), remember to rent a car with Aircon., and bring water (lots). And just before you get to Nevada (4 miles), there is a exit, and a gas stop, and a cafateria (I can highly recomend it - but only if you feel hungry). Well if you ingore this and just continues down the road you will get to Bonnevill Salt Flats Speedtrack (probably also the name of the exit on I80). You can find more information about it here Well I was in Utah with some colleagues (work is so fun, especially when you travel), and as we had to goto to Salt Lake City to pick up another colleague from the Airport, why not (Bugs Bunny: "I think we should have turned left at....."), well it was a pleasent sunday afternoon, and because we where in Utah we did not have any hangovers.... I don't know if any of you ever went out an spend a small fortune on something which you can live without even thinking about. Well I did and I went out and burght a new camera, a D10. Yes it is a very big small fortune, but it is fun anyway.
