I was watching God’s Warriors on CNN yesterday evening (CNN God’s Warriors), and finally I got the explanation why evangelists mush think why Darwin is wrong, and by no means cannot be right.
It goes like this; “If Darwin is right, then Genesis cannot be right, and therefor the whole bible is wrong”, therefor Darwin is wrong, as the bible is right.
I still like the joke; “Moses on the mountain, asking God how the whole thing started. God; “8 billion years ago…”, Moses: “hey, stop, can I get the short version!”, God; “On the first day…”
Just shows that if you have doubt in your faith, then you have doubt in everything….

One may sometimes wonder what the computer have given to us, I hear do not think of easy access to information, email, etc. more in the way of what have lost by having the computer.
I was having a discussion with some friends this weekend, and one of the things which came up it looks like “just” because we now have the computer, and there are tools which can help in our work, and somethings are easier to do, it then does not mean that it’s done the right way.
For example, retouching photos. In the “old” days it was a pain staking job to do, now anyone can scan the photo (if we are talking about photos), use Adobe PhotoShop to stretch/repair the photo, and everyone can do it with a bit of trail and error. But is it done the right way?
And how can it be that some crafts are no longer taught, my dad was a blacksmith and was taught to make horseshoes from raw metal, these days it looks like one can buy horseshoes off the shelf and then “just” do the fitting.
I do not think we should expect that most of the known crafts will be around in another 50 – 100 years, and that means that we will not know the basis, which in some cases could be required to create something which is not possible to do with a computer and a CNC machine.
And will it actually help our society if we don’t know how to produce things by hand?

Ever thourght of owning your own Integer??
Neither have I but it is now possible. I now own 2702 EC16 23C6 8FB7 3EEF 3E40 F2DB 288F, and I here by ask you not to use it:-), if you do please do contact me for a licensing deal:-)
The whole thing comes down to AACS trying to stop people distributing a specfic integer which is used for copy right protection on Blue-Ray and DVD-HD disks, I’ve seen it, and don’t really have much interest, but owning your own Integer is kind of geeky.

A story came up on the Danish newspaper Politiken, that Mel Gibson have stopped a small danish brewery (Midtfyns Bryghus) from producing a beer by the name of “Braveheart“, as he thinks that he owns that word….
In my humble oppinion this thing where ‘famous’ people can decide to trademark words which has to do with what ever roles they have played in good or bad movies is starting to go over the top.
So maybe “drunk”, and “alcoholic” will be the next Mr. Gibson will trademark?

A month ago, or so, I wrote about customer service or the lack of.
I also wrote that I switched my ISP to a cable based provider; UPC, as they where friendly and very help full.
Well during my move something went wrong, and my address was not moved (thanks to the local postal service), which have resulted in a few mishaps in the last couple of weeks. Well it has not ended yet, and as I was to find out this evening when I got home from work, it was going to get a lot worse…
This morning (was working from home), I suddenly lost my internet connection, and therefor I call the helpdesk, to ask if they knew about it, and when it would fixed (stay home, or goto the office). The person I talked to listed a wrong address (been there before???), and I was transfered to another person (starting to sound like a nightmare), this very helpfull person then resolutly changed the address, and mentioned “it will take me 3 days to move your equipment”, where as I then mentioned “well it is working”, and she forgot to mention the following: they cut the connection (which it seams that they can do remotely), and then they will have to send a technician, who then will have to do something manually to get the connection established again (I really wonder where the diffrence is).
I went to work, and checked my website (this!), and no connnection, got home from work, and call the nice people people from the helpdesk again, and was told that I could expect to have access to the internet, be able to watch TV, and be able to receive telephone calls within 72 hours of loosing the connection that is on friday (and today is tuesday!!)… I kind of complained abit about that, and told them how I fell about it. It’s like no internet, and no TV, I can live without either but not both…
Well there is one thing I know now, I’ll keep this provider for the 12 months I have to (according to the contract), and then I’ll find another one who do not have anything to do with my TV, that way I’ll have atleast either of them if things go wrong.
And I’ll look into using gmail‘s offer to handle domains, that way I’ll atleast have access to my mail from any internet connection when my connection is down, and I’ll move my website offsite (well that is easier said than done), but I can always try….
Argh!!!!
Oh, you will only read this after I got my connection back, strange world we live in….

‘Blog comments‘ you say, well let me tell you I love them, they are simply adorable, and they make me think that someone out there actually read my blog – the only thing I have an issue with are comments like:
replica watches | replica@watches.com | s2.zeroforums.com/index.php?mforum=bestreplicawatch | IP: 200.88.223.98
replica watches
http://s2.zeroforums.com/index.php?mforum=bestreplicawatch
replica watches
Which is not why I allow comments to my small, so if you’re one of the people who send me these offers, please stop as I don’t have any interest in them.
Now I’m on the subject on ‘Blog spam‘ or ‘email spam’, I read somewhere that most of all spam originates from the US, Korea, and China. Now the interesting thing is that one can actually go to jail in the US for sending unsolicited email – maybe they should start building more prisons:-)
